Finding God in the Mysteries of every day

Week 16 Day 1

Finding God in the Mysteries of every day

Zephaniah 3 Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!

She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the Lord; she drew not near to her God. Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow. Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.

The just Lord is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.

I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.

I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings. (KJV)

I don’t know that the image above needs any explanation, or the Biblical text above. Suffice it to say that we are in a time of turmoil, when the Revelation of God is intentionally ignored not only in the streets, but in the halls of city governments, state governments, and the national government, but also in the places where Christians, those who believe what the Bible says, who live according to the precepts of God and follow Jesus with ALL of their hearts would be disappointed to find that the highest offices of many Churches and denominations have been taken over by the lying prophets of secular religion.

You must discern for yourself whether what any of these people are saying is true. You must apply a different measure than just your ears and eyes. We must look within the scriptures and our hearts to know that Jesus is the only Way, the real Truth and the fullness of Life (John 114:6 paraphrased from NIV) It is essential that we do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. I John 4:1 (NIV)

Do not be dismayed by what you see. Follow Jesus, no matter what.
