Week 8 Day 2
In your majesty ride forth victoriously in the cause of truth, humility and justice; let your right hand achieve awesome deeds.

I have been struggling lately with much of the lyric and subject matter of both music and preaching. I seem to be hearing an awful lot of what I would call “determinism”, that is to say that the focus, the sum of all things is the ego. What I “feel”; How I perceive; How this (or any) circumstance or situation affects me.
Much of Christian music, even some of our most cherished melodies have at their core some level of shouting about “what Jesus has done for me”. All well and good. There is, however, a dynamic that we seem to largely pass by in favor of our own celebrations. That is the very essence of who we say we are. Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
One of my favorite Christian worship songs, now perhaps existing among the cobwebs in my mind is entitled Majesty. I think I like this song because it is at once invitational, congregational, and at no point does it elevate me or my feelings above the adoration of the most high God.
Majesty worship His majesty/Unto Jesus be all glory Honor and praise
Majesty kingdom authority/Flow from His throne/Unto His own His anthem raise
So exalt lift up on high/The name of Jesus
Magnify come glorify/Christ Jesus the King
Majesty worship His majesty’Jesus who died now glorified/King of all kings
