Week 3 Day 7
Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies— make your way straight before me.

So many times in scripture we are advised, or we hear the writers plead for the straight path. A common phrase in usage still today is to “walk the straight and narrow”. This is taken, of course, from Jesus’ own words (Matthew 7:13-14). We are advised that the road to destruction is broad, and many will walk that road. We see this reflected in religious pluralism, this sort of “anything goes” blending of social and spiritual ideas which ultimately fly in the face of the true righteousness of God.
It would be wonderful if we could each and every hour of the day perceive the straight path laid out for us by our Lord Jesus. Truth be known, however we are constantly assaulted on every side by our own corrupt desires, the enticements of worldliness, and the very essence of evil, the devil himself.
Holiness, the infilling of the Holy Spirit, the commitment to relinquish all of those things of the world, even up to our very lives in favor of the leading, healing, and empowerment of the Lord will and desires for our lives is the key.
But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. I Corinthians 6:11
Don’t lose hope. God will make a way.
